Love Poem: Imminence

April 27th, 2010

Imminence

A scene, a nightmare,
Passing by me like a dream,
I lay awake, watching helpless
No story line, only symbolism to define.

Dark night, moonlight
Reflecting off waves,
An eerie purple haze,
Frailly treading rough seas.

A ship sailing distant,
Would it spot me,
Rescue from vulnerability,
Pure white light beaconing the way?

Giant swells, engulfing ocean,
Drowning in realization,
Imminence in motion,
Sucking me under to meet some fate.

Too late, an ending near,
No hope, only fear.
I must let go of something dear,
But what is it I’m holding?

Then I awoke next to YOU.
